|Description:||Global Science &Technology, Inc. (GST), a fast growing high technology firm, currently soliciting candidates for a new Task Order to provide technical and engineering services in support of the NOAA-NASA Joint Polar Satellite System (JPSS) Calibration/Validation (Cal/Val) plan. JPSS is the next generation U.S. operational polar-orbiting environmental satellite system. We are seeking an experienced Support Scientist to provide support to the project. The position is located in Greenbelt, MD.|
•Develop key functionality to the distribution web application such as download, upload, search and subscription to scientific satellite data.
•Support customer with creating and planning a distribution web application that will interface with LDAP application protocol.
•Migrate JPSS data located on Casanosa to GRAVITE.
•Develop objects and functional code that would help support Java application CasRT.
•Maintain and upgrade satellite imagery tool from 32bit to 64bit architecture using C and FORTRAN.
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering. Master’s degree in one of the disciplines above shall be considered equivalent two years of experience.
•Two (2) years plus of professional experience in systems engineering and web development.
•Scientific application experience is a strong plus.
